‘Preparing to Fly’

Mission Statment

Newchurch will give every child a flying start by working in partnership with parents, staff and the community to develop well-rounded citizens who will contribute in a positive way to society.

Newchurch Community Primary School is an inclusive school which strives to provide a nurturing, safe, happy and consistent learning environment for all our Newchurch robins in order to prepare them to fly.

The children and staff at Newchurch strive to:

  •         Be a good listener
  •         Make good choices
  •         Always try our best

At Newchurch we are dedicated to providing our pupils with an ambitious, engaging, broad and balanced curriculum which celebrates and extends the children’s learning whilst also meeting the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum.  Our ‘chocolate box curriculum’ is a curriculum which ignites a passion for learning across all subjects of the National Curriculum and one which facilitates the children’s personal development and promotes lifelong learning – preparing them to fly.

Throughout their time at Newchurch, we aim to work in partnership with parents and carers to support the children in developing into positive, responsible and kind citizens, who are able to work and co-operate with others whilst developing the necessary knowledge and skills to help them achieve their true potential. We achieve this through our ‘R Curriculum’- our core values of: Resilience, Respect, Resourcefulness, Responsibility, Reciprocity and Reflectiveness.

Our Core Values - Our 'R' Curriculum

'Pupils concentrate fully in the calm, well-ordered classrooms. They work cooperatively together, taking turns and listening to each other’s point of view.' (Ofsted Report, 2019)
