Online Safety

Online Safety

Keeping children safe online is exceptionally important. At Newchurch we educate children on how to stay safe using a range of modern media, however we have also put together some links to help parents manage their children's access to communication technologies.

Computing, formerly known as ICT, is an integral part of teaching and learning at Newchurch Community Primary School. The children benefit from a wide range of technical resources, with online capabilities at the centre of their learning.

Within our new Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) the children will have access to their own pages, class activities and the ability to communicate with staff and their peers, all of which provides Newchurch's pupils with a contemporary learning experience.

However, access to the internet and other e-learning resources requires training, guidance and advice to ensure that everyone learns in a safe environment. Along with the training the children receive within school, we have compiled a list of sites which offer guidance to children and parents on the safe use of e-learning tools.
